They Say Herbs Is Not A Proven Therapy

Jack (A160), a 53-year old male, passed out watery stools. Later was diagnosed with colon cancer in June 1999. He underwent an operation in which ten inches of his colon was resected. It was a Stage 1 cancer with no metastasis. His surgeon said: You have a 20% rate of success, but you must go for chemotherapy.

He declined chemotherapy, came to see us in August 1999 and was started on herbs. Two weeks later his appetite and sleep improved tremendously. He also felt more energetic.

Jack told us this story. His surgeon who was then at the government hospital had moved to a private hospital. He now had to see another surgeon during this follow up visit. The new surgeon asked him why he did not go for chemotherapy and insisted that he do so. He told the surgeon: I am taking herbs. The surgeon replied: That is not a proven remedy.

About one and half years later, in January 2001, he had a colonoscopy. The doctor said everything was fine. On 28 March 2001 his CEA was at 0.6. Everything was alright and he had put on weight. He had gone to see his surgeon who told him: You are lucky. He reminded his doctor that he was taking herbs. The doctor made a note of this on his medical record and kept quiet.

He continued taking the herbs up to March 2003 and then stopped. He told one of our friends that he was already cured. As of this writing, November 2004, he is still doing fine. It has been more than five years since he first came to see us. He had led a normal life since the day he was diagnosed with cancer.

Eight Years On Herbs

Lan (A822) was a 73-year old female. She was diagnosed with a Stage 3 sigmoid cancer in March 2000 and underwent an operation. Her family member came to us on 23 April 2000 and took herbs for her – Capsule A, deTox Mt. Guava and GI tea. As I was reviewing and writing this paper, her daughter came to the centre. She told us that her mother has been taking the herbs regularly since April 2000. It has been more than four years now and she was doing very well.

Her mother went for a routine check up every six months and everything was alright. She confirmed that her mother never had any chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Before she left she said this:Actually my nephew is a medical professor. Then I asked: Oh, was he the heart specialist who faxed and asked me to give his mother herbs because he would not want her to go for chemotherapy? She replied: No. He is actually a gastrointestinal specialist!

Note: According to our record, the last time her daughter came to collect herbs from us was June 2008 – that is, she had been taking the herbs for 8 years.

Stage 3 Colon Cancer: On Herbal Therapy Without Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy

Tan (M-73) was 50 years old when she was diagnosed with colon cancer. Prior to her diagnosis Tan had been passing out blood in her stools. She took various kinds of herbs but they were not effective. In December 2002, Tan came to a private hospital in Penang and underwent a colostomy operation. A temporary “bag” was fitted. After five months, April 2003, colostomy reversal operation was performed whereby the colon was reconnected and there was no need to use the bag anymore.

The histopathology report dated 19 December 2002 indicated: moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of the rectum, Duke Stage C (infiltration into pararectal lymph node). Resected margin: clear. Pararectal lymph nodes: metastatic adenocarcinoma (1/5).

The surgeon suggested that Tan undergo radiotherapy. She refused. She also did not wish to undergo chemotherapy. Tan came to seek our help on 18 April 2003 and was started on herbs: Capsule A, GI 1 and GI 2 teas, and C-Tea.

Three months on the herbs, Tan reported improvements in her health. She looked better and felt better. Before taking herbs, she had difficulty moving her bowels but with the herbs, there was no problem. An ultrasound done on 4 July 2003 showed normal results.

Tan come to Penang every year to see her doctor for routine check up. So far, nothing is amiss. On 3 July 2009, Tan dropped by our centre and reported that everything was fine. It has been more than 6 years that she is on herbs. Over this period she came to see us five times. The following are excerpts of our video conversation during these visits.

First visit: 18 April 2003

Tan came with a companion and it is her companion who spoke to us.

Companion:  The doctor wanted to do radiotherapy. She refused. She also refused chemotherapy.

Second visit, after 3 months on herbs: 4 July 2003

Tan came with a companion and it is her companion who spoke to us.

Chris: After 3 months on the herbs, were you okay?

Compassion: She is  better.

Ch: Are you more energetic?

Com: Sure.

Ch: You felt better, no pains?

Com: Yes.

Third visit, 6 months on herbs: 21 November 2003

Tan came with a companion and it is her companion who spoke to us.

Chris: When did you do this (referring to X-ray)?

Companion: Today.

Ch: What did the doctor say?

Com: Good results.

Ch: Please take care of your diet. Also continue to take the herbs.

Fourth visit, 5 years on herbs: 4 July 2008

Tan came alone, without her companion.

Chris: Wah, it has been 5 years …

Tan: Six years (after her diagnosis).

Chris: No radiotherapy, no chemo …. Did you take care of your diet?

Tan: Yes.

Chris: You went to see you doctor – what did he say?

Tan: Very good … it has been 6 years now (after her diagnosis).

Chris: Did the doctor know that you are taking herbs and that you did not go for chemo or radiotherapy?

Tan: Yes, he knew. When I took the herbs, I felt well. I take the herbs everyday.

Chris: Let me tell you this – if I were you, I would continue to do what you have been doing – don’t change. Now you feel good but we will not know when the cancer would come back.

Fifth visit, 6 years on herbs: 3 July 2009

Tan came alone, without her companion.

Chris: How long now?

Tan: Seven years (since the diagnosis).

Chris: You came here to see your doctor?

Tan: Yes, I saw him just now. The doctor said: Good. He did not give me any medication but asked me to continue to take the herbs. The doctor said the herbs are already my medication.

Chris: The doctor said that? He did not scold you for taking the herbs?

Tan: No, no. I showed him your herbs.

Chris: As a person, are you okay – any problem? Did you take care of your diet?

Tan: Sometimes, I miss out a bit. I ate a bit of chicken meat. Then I will take herbs after that.

Chris: What happen if you did not take the herbs?

Tan: I had the urge to move my bowels. With the herbs after taking chicken, I felt okay. .

Comments: This is a Stage 3 cancer. Normal convention is that Tan must undergo chemotherapy or radiotherapy as suggested by her surgeon. But she declined further medical treatment. There is no recurrence or metastasis as of this writing. The question to ask is: Why did the doctor ask her to undergo radiotherapy in the first place? Was it just a procedural advice – to comply with medical convention? Let us ask this question: What could have been the result if Tan were to undergo chemotherapy or radiotherapy? Would these treatments be more damaging and cause misery to her life?

It must be emphasized that Tan’s healing is not due to the herbs alone. Her diet is just equally important. At CA Care, we ask patients to abstain from meat, sugar, table salts, dairy products and oil. To do well patients must change to a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Rectal Cancer Stage 3: Eight Years and Doing Fine After Surgery But Only On Herbs

AK was 70 years old when she came to seek our help.  Sometime in March 2001 she had abdominal pains for about 2 week’s duration and she passed out blood in her stools. She went to a private hospital and did a colonoscopy. There was a 15 cm tumour at the anal verge. She was admitted into the hospital on 12 April 2001 and underwent a surgery.

Histopathology indicated moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of the rectum, tubulovillous type, Duke Stage C. Pararectal lymph nodes: metastatic adenocarcinoma (1/6).

She recovered well and was discharged on 20 April 2001. She was subsequently referred to an oncologist for further management. She refused chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Instead she came to see us on 13 May 2001 and presented with the following:

  • She had difficulty sleeping. She slept only after mid-night.
  • She had no appetite.
  • She was tired.
  • She was constipated.
  • Her urine was yellow.
  • Her stomach felt bloated.

A week after the herbs she improved.

  • Her sleep was better. She could sleep early now.
  • Her appetite had improved.
  • She was less tired.
  • Her bowel movements had improved.
  • Her urine was less yellow.
  • Her body was itchy.

On 4 November 2001 (see the video) she reported the following:

  • She could sleep well.
  • She had good appetite.
  • She felt “cheng sin” and “song” (increased energy and wellbeing).
  • Her stomach was not bloated any more – no more wind.
  • Her body was not itchy anymore.
  • Her bowel movements were normal.

It has been many years since this visit. We have virtually forgotten her case. AK’s daughter came to collect herbs for her mother every now and then but did not sit out with us for any further consultation.

On 22 July 2009 her daughter came to collect herbs for her mother and informed us that AK was doing fine. It is 8 years 2 months since she first came to see us. We are indeed surprised. AK has Stage 3 rectal cancer that had spread to the lymph node. She refused to undergo chemotherapy / radiotherapy. And she is still doing fine.

On 8 September 2009 her daughter came to collect herbs for her mother. She confirmed the following:

  • After her operation, AK did not undergo any further medical treatment – no chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
  • AK did not taking any other mediation apart from our herbs. And she is taking it up to this day.
  • It has been more than 8 years and she is doing fine, for a person of 78 years old.

Surgery and Chemotherapy Did Not Cure Him

Ram is a 38-year-old male. He had stomach pains for about 3 months. His stools were hard and sometimes were blood stained. He went to a private hospital and did an X-ray. The doctor found nothing wrong with him. But his problems still persisted. Ram went to another private hospital. A CTscan on 17 April 2007 showed a 3.5 cm mass at the recto-sigmoid junction. There were multiple nodules approximately 10 mm each in Segments 6 and 8 of the liver. These represent liver metastases.

Ram underwent an operation to remove the tumour in his colon. Later, he underwent a second surgery for his liver. In addition to the surgery, Ram also received six cycles of chemotherapy. He suffered severe side effects from this treatment. When asked if he would want to undergo more chemotherapy, he sheepishly smiled and said: No – never again. Besides the nasty side effects, Ram suffered erectile dysfunction. In addition, Ram also received eight cycles of Xeloda, an oral chemo drug. Each cycle consisted of 14 days on Xeloda followed by 7 days rest.

A CT scan performed on 5 November 2007 showed:

  1. Normal CT of chest.
  2. Normal CT of abdomen/pelvis.

However, his illness did not go away. Blood test result on 1 December 2008 showed CEA = 15.9 (high) while a CT scan on the same day showed:

  1. multiple peripheral nodules in both lungs, predominantly the upper lobes. Conclusion: lung metastasis.
  2. the liver is of normal size and shape but there are multiple enhancing lesion throughout. Conclusion: liver metastasis and paraaortic lymphadenopathy.

The doctor asked Ram to undergo more chemotherapy. This treatment would cost him RM 30,000.00. Ram refused. All in all, Ram’s employer had already spent about RM 70,000.00 for his treatment and the company was not prepared to spend anymore money on his treatment. And with his condition, it is most likely that Ram might even loose his job.

Questions to Ponder:

  1. What do the 2 operations, 6 cycles of chemo and 8 cycles do to this young man? Any good has come out of this medical adventure?
  2. Is it really necessary to do the colon surgery, given the fact that he also had liver metastasis?
  3. Is liver surgery any use for him?
  4. Patients under expensive medical treatments with the full expectation what they are going to be cured – but is there such thing as cure?
  5. All said and done – don’t you think that we are all just play acting?

The Story of Goh

Goh,73 year-old male, was diagnosed with colon cancer. He opted for alternative healing instead of an operation. With the help of his son, he changed to a totally raw, vegetarian diet. After two months, the tumours in the colon mysteriously disappeared. The doctor took numerous X-rays on him and was baffled as to what had happened. Believing that he was cured, Goh went back to his old ways and diet! Within two months, the cancer came back. This time he was in severe pains. Besides, the cancer had spread to his liver. He was in so much agony that the family had to send him to the hospital. At first, the doctor was reluctant to admit him and scolded his son for “trying to be too clever.”

Medically there was nothing anybody could do for him, except to give him painkillers. He was the worst of patients in the hospital’s cancer ward. When the specialist came on ward rounds, he would refuse to see Goh, because according to the specialist Goh’s liver did not function anymore! His stomach was bloated and his legs swelled and the rest of him was reduced to skin and bones. His condition was beyond imagination. He was unable to walk, even for a short distance to the toilet, and could barely talk. After almost three months, he was brought home because according to his family “if he has to die, let him die at home.” Except for one son, the rest of the family members gave him up for dead. They said: “There is no need to give him anything — why waste the money, there is no chance, no hope anymore.”

Around Goh’s 73th birthday, the family made him a coat. Actually, that coat was intended for his anticipated funeral. Goh himself gave up, refusing to take any medication — he was ready to die. Fortunately, one of his sons refused to accept defeat. He came to CA Care and asked for herbs. Goh was prescribed many herbs but he only agreed to take the Abdominal Distension tea, refusing the AB, Liver-P etc. After two weeks, the swelling subsided and the healing started! As Goh gained confidence, he started to take other prescribed herbs. Soon, all the pains were gone and he regained his health.

I met Goh and his son for the first time on 9 October 2000, at a hotel while on a visit to his home state. We had a chat and did a video interview. Goh told me that he was healthier than before he had cancer. He wakes up around 4 a.m. everyday and walks about four to five kilometres to the market to buy his daily food supplies. He comes home and eats raw potato leaves. He takes his juices. He refuses to eat any meat even though his qi-kung master encourages him “to eat some meat for strength.” He does not feel that he has lost any strength and can climb the hills like anyone else.

A lesson to learn from this episode – “Don’t ever give up, even if your doctors have given up on you!”

The Story of Tony

Tony was a 67-year-old male. He was diagnosed with colon cancer sometime in late December 1995. An operation was done to remove the cancer. Unfortunately the cancer had spread to the liver as well. In view of the extensive metastasis, Tony’s doctor concluded that chemotherapy or radiotherapy would be of limited benefit. His prognosis was extremely poor. The doctors then told Tony’s daughter: “Bring him home, organize a party for him and tell him that he had cancer. Let him live happily and count his days.”

At home Tony’s movements were very limited and difficult. He needed to be supported by the neck to lie down or wake up. He needed to be fed. One day, Tony’s daughter learned about CA Care from a member of her church’s cell group. She came to seek our help on 24 May 1996. At that time Tony presented with the following problems:

1. Burning sensation in the chest every night.

2. Had pains in the rib region when breathing.

3. Felt numbness of both legs and pains in the back.

4. Felt very tired and was not able to sleep at night.

5. Poor appetite.

6. Experienced frequent urination.

7. Bowel movements were difficult and stools hard.

After taking herbs for a week, Tony came to our centre. He looked much better than he was the previous week. We could see that the herbs had helped him tremendously. The chest burn, numbness and pains had all gone. His bowel movements and appetite had improved and he slept well.

By 19 July 1996, barely two months on the herbs, Tony’s weight increased by 11 kg. He was able to ride a motorcycle. On 23 August 1996, Tony was doing very well. He could sleep and eat. There were no more pains. Both his urination and bowel movements were normal. His doctor said this healing was a miracle!

After more than a year, 24 September 1997, Tony did a blood test. The alpha-fetoprotein was 2.5 ng/ml while the CEA was 5.0 ng/ml. This was a tremendous contrast to his May 1966 CEA reading which was 45.2 ng/ml. His liver function test showed readings within normal limits.

It was indeed satisfying to note that since taking the herbs, Tony was able to lead a normal happy life (note: he was entirely on herbs — no chemotherapy or radiotherapy!). He was able to celebrate his youngest daughter’s marriage happily. It was our privilege too to be able to attend this wedding dinner!

No healing For Those Who Acted Too Smart, Too Educated and Too Demanding

Mr. Nut was a 56-year-old male. Sometime in January 2001, he went to see a doctor with a history of bloody stools. A colonoscopy indicated colon cancer. An ultrasound scan demonstrated multiple metastases in the liver.

Nut underwent palliative surgery after receiving 14 cycles of chemotherapy. At first the treatment showed good response. Then the CEA started to increase from 5.7 in November 2002, to 24.6 in March 2003. A CT scan showed the liver lesions were larger compared to the previous examination.

In short, Nut’ story was a story of disappointment: after the operation and chemotherapy, there seemed to be high hope and encouraging sign. The tumour shrunk and the CEA went down. But thathigh hope did not last – an illusion at its best. A few months later, the tumour grew in size and the CEA shot up.

Nut came to see me in Penang in December 2003. He spent more than an hour interrogating meabout our therapy. He was looking for options and wanted to go to Singapore to seek further treatment after this. At the end of our meeting I said this to him: Go home and think what you want to do. There is NO NEED for you to see me again. Should you decide to take the herbs, then this is the prescription.

To my surprise, Nut came to our centre in late December 2003 and decided to take our herbs.

On 19 January 2004, we received a long note about Nut suffering from stomach spasm and wind. The note said: This stomach spasm pain had been a somewhat persistent occurrence since my first colon-rectal operation in January 2001. Nut complained that this pain had recurred since taking the herbs. The Stomach Function herb did not seem to work.  Then there was this remark: … with my current diet, there are very little left to eat.

In another long note, dated 23 January 2004 he wrote: I have never been much of a rice eater by nature, and much as I’ve tried hard to eat, the advised brown rice and plain veggies, I am finding it harder and harder to consume… The medicinal herbal tea recommended – I find them foul smelling and vile tasting. I am beginning to suspect that some of these teas are contributing towards my wind stomach condition.

On 30 March 2004, Nut made an appointment to see me in Subang Jaya. He came and shouted at me saying: I am not getting any better. My blood test results showed that the values had increased. He demanded: What have you got for me? Can you cure me or not? My answer to him was plain and blunt: No we cannot cure anybody. He replied: I have wasted three and a half months of my time. You did not say that you cannot cure me before. He walked off and left.

Comments: Of the many hundreds or thousands of cancer patients I have met and helped, Nut’s case stands out as one of the outstanding one. I am documenting this episode, not because I am angry or upset about it, but I am hoping that by writing this many others who come after him can all learn some lessons from such a case. Let me point out the following:

  1. Liver cancer patients are often bad tempered and are angry people. So, those of you who have to care for such patients, take note. In the face of such rudeness and bad manners, try to show understanding and love. Such behaviour is part of the hazard of people suffering from liver cancer.
  2. Very often, I have told patients this: healing is your responsibility and it must come from within. It would be a mistake to think that others have magic bullets to cure your cancer. Such thinking is misguided.
  3. When Nut was diagnosed with colon cancer, the medical report indicated that he underwentpalliative surgery. What this means is that such surgery is not meant to cure! In actual fact, Nut had already lost his battle even before he started the fight.
  4. Besides colon cancer, Nut had liver metastases. Fourteen cycles of toxic chemo drugs did not cure him. He did know where else to go to for help and came to us. When I first met him in December, I knew from our conversation that he would be a very difficult patient to handle – he appeared too smart and too educated. Patients who are arrogant and acted as if they know everything generally have difficulty following our therapy.
  5. It came to me as a surprise when I learnt that Nut decided to take the herbs. I understand he was desperate. And I must say most patients who come to see us for help are in the same category – lost, helpless, desperate and hopeless.
  6. As all those who come here already know, we require patients to sign the Release of Liabilityform before they see us or take our herbs. The first clause in this form said: I have on my own free will come to seek advice and help from Dr. Chris Teo and members of his CA Care with regards to my illness. I acknowledge that there is no guarantee or promise that the herbs provided by CA Care can benefit or cure my sickness. Nut signed this form when he came to see me on 19 December 2003. Nut’s wife also signed another form when she came to collect the herbs later on. So his outburst was illogical and ill mannered. He had forgotten that by displaying such arrogance, the real loser is himself, not anybody else.
  7. Generally when people are in trouble and need help they will follow and listen to our advise. But when they become well or unwell, they will speak with different tongues. Sometime, we become their punching bags or scapegoats.
  8. Unknown to many, how patients present themselves would indicate to me if he/she can make it or not. His/her attitude, facial expressions, emotional problems, lifestyle, commitment, family support etc. are observed and noted – all these enable me to assess and  figure out the REAL person we are dealing with. If a patient thinks he/she comes here wanting a quick fix or magic bullet, let it be known – we have none! Such thinking is grossly misguided. Cancer is a systemic disease of the body, mind and spirit. It is a result of a constant abuse of the body over years. The tumour is just an expression of such abuse. Removing the tumour is never a cure or the answer if the underlying cause of the problem is never addressed or corrected.
  9. Nut, according to his medical report suffered from rectal bleeding for seven months and he ignored the signal that the body was sending him. Was he ignorant or was he stubborn? He wanted to play the game according to his own rule? Be warned – in cancer game, you seldom or can never win. Chances are you will lose badly and dearly. Again, the medical report indicated that in 1996, Nut contracted hepatitis B but he still drank alcohol about a couple of times a week. He smoked approximately 30 cigarettes per day. Is this not a blatant abuse of the body? I dare say to anyone, if you persist with such habits, don’t blame others or God if you find yourself in bottomless pit. You cause your own cancer!
  10. Nut was a plantation manager. From what I know, such people (not all?) have colonial mentality. They are regarded as gods in their kingdoms or estate.  They would bark at their assistants, clerks and illiterate workers. Their wishes were obeyed and never questioned. They give orders not receiving orders. It is hard for such a person to follow this holistic path of healing. Nut protested about his diet. He could NOT eat what he likes anymore. To him, the herbs were foul smelling and bad in taste. His notes to us showed his anger and hatredtowards what he was doing. Under such stress nobody can find any healing?
  11. Nut is not the only person who felt this way. From my experience, only THREE out of ten patients who come seemed to benefit from our work, the remaining seven failed for reasons like this. But what are we to do? If you are unhappy or NOT prepared to walk this journey, go elsewhere for other options.

The Story of My Buddy: Colon-Liver Cancer

Hanafi and I come from the same state of Kelantan. We were classmates in the 1960s. One day in October 2004, another classmate e-mailed me saying that Hanafi was in the hospital, stricken with colon cancer that had metastasised to his liver. He had undergone an operation to remove the diseased colon. Upon hearing this, I called him at his home and asked if I could be of help in anyway.

Hanafi and I come from the same state of Kelantan. In short, we are Kelantanese. Never mind that he is a Malay and I, a Chinese; he a Muslim and I, a Christian. As Kelantanese we share a strong bond of friendship and trust.  But these are not all. We were classmates while studying at theCollege of Agriculture (Malaya) in the 1960s. And being Serdangites we share another common bond of comradeship. After we graduated from College, we did not get to see each other.

One day in October 2004, another Serdang classmate e-mailed me saying that Hanafi was in the hospital, stricken with colon cancer that had metastasised to his liver. He had undergone an operation to remove the diseased colon. Upon hearing this, I called him at his home and asked if I could be of help in anyway. But I did not suggest that he take our herbs. That would be unethical. In fact, by calling him at his home, I had already violated my own code of ethics. I generally do not do such a thing, lest I be accused of trying to promote my herbs. But, Hanafi was my classmate. I thought I would have to do what I did. I provided him with all the information he wanted to know about colon cancer. In his own wisdom he decided to take our herbs.

After his surgery, his doctor recommended chemotherapy which Hanafi readily agreed. I respected his decision. Hanafi went through twelve cycles of chemotherapy, not six like most patients. The tumour in his liver did not budge. Chemotherapy was abandoned and he received two treatments of RFA (radiofrequency ablation). This procedure also failed.

The next option would be more chemotherapy or a liver surgery. He declined both! He had learnt his lesson. Let him tell you his story ….

Herbs and Chemotherapy

Change of Lifestyle and Diet

Each time I go to Subang Jaya to meet up with cancer patients, I requested that Hanafi come and have lunch with me and the rest of our CA Care family. He would do that after his round of golf. While eating, we talked. Listen to these video recordings taken over a period of time. There is no question at all, as of this writing – 2009 and almost five years after his diagnosis – Hanafi is very much alive and well today.

Enjoy Life to the Fullest

There is no greater satisfaction than to be able to help a dear friend to be on his feet again! And there is no greater satisfaction than to know that this friend listens to our advice and is prepared to take the extra mile to CHANGE and heal himself.  And with God’s grace and blessings, Hanafi earned his healing.

The Family Visited Us In Penang

Liver Cancer: Severe Itch

Bob was a 57-year-old male. In early 2010 he went to a government hospital complaining of shortness of breath. Examination indicated irregular hard swelling below the costal margin (liver area). He was jaundiced. A CT scan on 19 April 2010 indicated multiple nodules of varying sizes in both lung fields suggestive of metastases. Soft tissue nodules at the hilum – right measures 1.4 x 1.4 cm, left measures 2.3 x 2.7 cm. Enlarged liver with a 9.9 x 10.5 cm lesion in the right lobe. Multiple lesions present in both lobes of the liver. These may represent metastases.

The doctor asked Bob to go home and wait for his time. This was no treatment for him and he was given a referral letter to the Hospice.

Bob came to CA Care on 7 May 2010 and presented with difficulty breathing and shortness of breath, itchiness throughout the whole body and he was not able to sleep flat.

He was prescribed: Capsule A & B, Lung 1 and Lung 2, Liver 1 and Liver 2 teas. A week on the herbs, Bob’s health improved. He was able to sleep well. He had more energy and his breathing had improved. On 30 May 2010, Bob said his appetite was extremely good. But he was unable to sleep because of severe itchiness. We put Bob on the e-therapy. After a day on the e-therapy, his itchiness subsided and he was able to sleep well. After four days, the itchiness disappeared.

Believing that he was already cured, Bob started to go around with his friends and ate anything he liked. He became breathless and died a few days later. He came to tell us his story a day before he died. Listen to the video below to know what happened.

Liver-Bile Duct Cancer: Herbs Kept Him In Excellent Health

The son of Henry (not real name) came from Jakarta, Indonesia. He told us an interesting story about his father. His father is 70 years old. He was diagnosed with bile duct cancer that had spread to his liver.

He declined further medical treatment and immediately took our herbs – Capsule A and B, Liver 1 and 2 teas, and LL-Tea. His health improved – his appetite improved and he regained his strength and energy.

Since he felt well, he stopped taking the herbs after five months. His health deteriorated. He was back in the hospital again. A scope done showed a bile duct blockage. The doctor suggested surgery but he refused. Henry again took our herbs. His health was again restored. After four months on the herbs, he again stopped taking the herbs. Within three weeks he started to vomit and he had fevers. Henry again went back to the herbs and he was well again until now. His son said: “I am afraid to stop the herbs again.”

Henry first started taking the herbs about two years ago. The herbs made him well up to this day. He has no complaints. He is healthy – can eat, can sleep and can move around. His son said: “Oh, he is very strong.  When you see him you would not think that he has cancer – he can even climb the tree. He is very, very okay.”

Comments: According to medical literature, median survival of liver cancer patients without medical treatment is 1 to 4 months. Prognosis worsens without increased tumour size. Patients with tumours larger than 6 cm have a mean survival of 3.5 weeks. Generally patients who come to us are often told that they only have 6 months to live.

In this case, Henry survived for 2 years without any medical treatment. He only took herbs. He continues to lead a quality life – without any pain, able to eat, sleep and move around like any healthy person. What more can such patient ask for?

Only On Herbs And She Lives More Than Five Years!

Seam (B984) a 49-year old female, was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma in August 2003. CT abdomen on  26 Aug 2003 indicated:

  1. 8.7 x 6.6 x 10 cm mass in Segment 6 & 7 of liver
  2. Caudate lobe ruptured

Being poor (a seamstress at a factory), Seam could not afford to pay for any   medical treatment at the private hospital. The doctor at the government hospital told her there was nothing that could be done for her. Seam came to us in early January 2004 and presented with dizziness and lethargy. She was started on our liver herbs.

After taking the herbs, she felt very good. She could eat and sleep well and was more energetic. She did not feel dizzy any more. She had also gained weight and her facial expression looked good and healthy.

As of this writing, March 2009, more than 5 years since she first came to us, Seam is doing very well indeed – leading a pain-free normal life.

He Declined Medical Treatment

Mac (K151) was a 69 year-old male. His problem started when he began to loose weight. An ultrasound done on 25 November 2002 indicated a 7.5 x 6.9 cm mass in segment 7 of the right lobe of his liver. A FNAC biopsy done on 19 December 2002 confirmed diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma.

The doctor suggested that he underwent surgery but the family declined further medical intervention. He opted for a change of diet, had traditional massage and took herbs. His son came to see us on 22 March 2003 and was prescribed liver herbs. He showed improvements. The ultrasound done on 9 June2003 indicated no significant change from the last scan, meaning his condition had not deteriorated. His blood test results did not show any deterioration either.

On 15 July 2005, Mac’s son called to say that his father had pains. He wanted some pain tea for his father.  But it was not to be. The next day, Mac died, 2 years 8 months after being diagnosed with liver cancer. In fact, he was till cycling around a week before this. In short, he did not suffer much when he died.

Comments

Mac managed to live for 2 years and 8 months without medical intervention. His liver tumour was 7.3 x 6.9 cm in size. Also, Mac did not suffer from his illness. Meaning his quality of life had been good. We could not ask for more. A review of medical literature showed that this is beyond what can generally be achieved with medical treatments. Generally doctors would say: You have only 6 months to live, in such cases.

It has been documented that survival without treatment for liver tumour was only 1 to 4 months. For those with tumour larger than 6 cm, the mean survival without treatment was 3.5 weeks.

We reported the case of Gan who had a 9 x 10.5 x 9 cm mass in his liver. He died after 2 years and 4 months. In the case of Seam, she had a 8.7 cm x 6.6 cm x 10 cm mass in her liver more than 5 years ago. Seam was also on herbs and as of this writing Seam is still leading a normal life.

Ponder this question: Is the taking of herbs better than medical treatments?

Hepatoma – He Refused Chemotherapy

Gan was a 62- year old man. Sometime in July 2000, he had fevers with vomiting and diarrhoea for about two weeks. He was admitted to a private hospital. A CT scan done on 1 August 2000 showeda 9 x 10.5 x 9 cm mass in segment 4 and 8 of the liver. The mass was seen to extend towards the porta hepatis.

The doctor said this was a heptocellular carcinoma. Subsequently, Gan was referred to a university hospital for further treatment but he did not follow up with that. He opted for herbs instead. He came to see us on 6 August 2000. He did not have any discomforts except that around midnight he had mild fevers. He was put on liver herbs.

Gan responded well to the herbs. After a week, his appetite increased. He slept well throughout the night while previously he had disturbed sleep and was awakened every hour of the night. He felt more alert or energetic. He looked much better than before. The midnight fevers had also disappeared.

On 10 September 2000, Gan told us that he had more energy and was able to go jogging. On 21 September 2001, i.e., one year and two months on the herbs, we met up with Gan again. He also told us that he was not going to do any more blood tests since the alpha-fetoprotein levels had increased from 179 in August 2000 (before taking the herbs) to 88,917 in June 2001 (after taking the herbs). He did not see any point knowing about it anymore. However, he was doing fine and had gone back to work as a mechanic. He had no symptoms or discomforts.

The following were his blood test results:

Comments

Gan obtained amazing relief from all his symptoms after taking the herbs for just one week. He was able to sleep, eat and work. Again, this case points to the fact that our herbs are not toxic to the liver. After three months on the herbs, the results of his liver function went back to normal.

We did not know what else could be done for him. Perhaps, this is a case of live and let live and hoping for the best. Of course, Gan had the option of going for surgery or other medical interventions which he, from the very beginning, declined.  Looking at it from the positive viewpoint, Gan did not fare that badly compared to those who opted for medical treatments. Perhaps he had made the correct decision. Many who had surgery died soon afterwards, while others developed more tumours in their livers.

Gan died without suffering on 31 December 2002.  Review of medical literature showed that survival without treatment for liver tumour was only 1 to 4 months. For those with tumour larger than 6 cm, the mean survival without treatment was 3.5 weeks. Gan lived without suffering for 2 years and 4 months. We could not ask for more.

Cancer Recurred Three Months After Surgery

Suria was a 38-year old man from Indonesia. He came to Penang for his wife’s operation but instead found himself to be suffering from liver cancer. For the past 20 years he had gastric problems and since the last ten years he had blurry visions. His daily diet: ayam goreng (fried chicken). A CT scan of the liver dated 2 March 2001 indicated a lobulated mass seen in the left lobe of the left liver. This possibly represents a hepatoma. The small nodular lesions seen in the right lung possibly represent metastatic lesions.

Suria came to see us on 13 March 2001 and decided not to undergo chemotherapy. He was put on Capsules A and B, Liver P and LL-tea. He returned to Indonesia. After two months he came back again and reported that he was doing well but was bothered with our recommendation to abstain from meat, oil, salt, dairy products and sugar.

We were indeed surprised to see Suria in Penang again on 26 August 2001. After talking to him for a while we felt really sorry for him. He could only give us an anguished laughter once in a while. We also felt sorry for his small daughter and young wife who accompanied him on this trip. The short sad story went like this. On his return to Indonesia, he started searching for a cure for his liver cancer. He went to see a doctor in a Jakarta hospital who then referred him to a specialist inSingapore for further treatment.

Suria had a part of his liver resected on 5 May 2001 in Singapore. Before the operation, the surgeon told Suria that he had a 98% chance. Unfortunately, this assurance was misleading. Barely three months later, scan done on 21 August 2001, showed that there were at least two space-occupying lesions in the liver, the configuration of which would be compatible with the presence of metastatic disease. There were also multiple small pulmonary nodules seen in the lung bases on both sides consistent with metastatic lung disease.

The surgeon was unable to help Suria anymore. The 98% chance of success he gave to Suria was meant to be a guarantee that Suria would not die because of the operation, but it was NOT a cure or non-recurrence of his liver cancer. The doctor washed off his hands from this case and referred Suria to an oncologist in a university teaching hospital. Suria then met up with the oncologist and was given the obvious answer: Go for chemotherapy!

The following are excerpts of our conversation on that sad day.

Hello, how have you been?

I had the tumour in my liver resected.

When did you do that?

Three months ago, on 5 May 2001. After I came to see you and took the herbs, I went back toIndonesia. Then I went to see a doctor in Jakarta. The doctor in Jakarta told me that the lump was getting bigger. If I were to get it resected, I would have more chances and can live longer – ten or more years. If I did not go for an operation, I would have no chance at all. So he referred me to a surgeon he knew in Singapore.

When you were in Indonesia and were on the herbs, were you alright?

Yes. I had no problems. I could eat. I could sleep. I could work. I was fine. It was just that the doctor in Jakarta said the lump was getting bigger and I should get it resected.

The operation in Singapore, how much did it cost you?

About S$35,000.

Before the doctor performed the operation on you, what did he say to you? Can you be cured or not by the operation? Hejamin me (Indonesian word for guarantee) that I had a 98% chance.

What else did he say?

After he operated on me, he told me that from what his eyes could see, everything was clean and clear. I should be OK. But he added that he would not be able to say for sure if the cancer would not recur.

What did you think the surgeon meant when he said he gave you a 98% guarantee?

My understanding was that I would be cured. That was what I thought all along. Now the doctorpusing sedikit (twist a bit) and told me that he only guaranteed 98% that the operation would be successful. But he only told me all this after he had operated on me.

Three months after the operation, you came back for a check-up?

Yes. I just went for the check up and had this CT scan done. After that I came to see you.

When you went to see the surgeon again, what did he say?

He said nothing. He just referred me to an oncologist in the university.

What did the oncologist say?

He asked me if I would like to take oral drugs for four weeks and see if they were effective or not. If the drugs were not effective, I should go for chemotherapy.

Did he tell you that the lumps have already come back to your liver? He told me something like that. (Suria was probably not told or aware that the cancer had also spread to the lungs).

Do you want to go for chemotherapy?

No. I don’t want to do chemotherapy. When I first came to see you I had already decided that I did not want to do any operation or any chemotherapy.

Then, why did you change your mind?

When I came to you and you gave me your herbs you told me not to eat meat, no oily food, no dairy products, no salts and no white sugar. I didn’t like that. So, when the doctor said I can eat anything I like, I preferred to go for medical treatment instead.

Oh, that was the reason?

Yes, yes. The doctor said I can eat anything I like.

Now Suria, you misunderstood me. Your diet has nothing to do with my herbs. The diet has everything to do with your liver cancer. Even if you do not take my herbs I would still advise you to keep to a good diet and abstain from all kinds of bad food. This is because of your liver cancer, not my herbs. If you are on my herbs and you still take bad food, you will not drop dead. You will be wasting your effort, your money and my time. So, the strict diet I ask you to adhere to is for your own good and for your liver cancer.

We felt really sad for Suria. We wonder how often and how many of such tragedies happen in this world? Where is truth, where is fairness? Rabbi Harold Kushner (in Living A Life That Matters) wrote that we live in the world of two opposing moralities. There is the morality of cleverness and wit, in which success means getting the better of the other person by means of a slick business deal or a clever answer … Then there is the morality of righteousness, in which the highest good is thoughtfulness toward others. The worst sin is hurting another person.
